OUR MISSION: To affect destiny by providing God’s eternal Word to all the children and youth of the world.

Let’s examine exactly what that means — and how it can be accomplished.

To affect destiny …

Outputs vs. Outcomes

We don’t define OneHope’s success by how many children we touch with God’s Word, which would be an astronomical number, but by the measureable impact we can see that has been made on the lives of the children we reach.

You can find out more about how we measure the impact, and how we create highly targeted and effective Scripture engagement tools, on our research page. You’ll discover things like the Spiritual State of the World’s Children, an ongoing project that examines the beliefs, attitudes and behaviors of specific segments of the global youth population.

Our goal as we create and distribute Scripture engagement tools, alongside our ministry partners, is to constantly target the Word to meet each segment of the youth population at their point of need and move them toward a decision for Jesus, a biblical worldview and the means to live their life like Christ.

The Lord has led us to create an innovative and strategic plan called Vision 2030 which outlines how OneHope, serving our global ministry partners and local churches around the world, can impact every young person with a meaningful presentation of the Gospel by the year 2030.

By Providing God’s Eternal Word …

Scripture engagement in meaningful ways

OneHope’s roots go back to 1987 when we first presented a simple children’s Scripture book to every schoolchild in the nation of El Salvador. While we still work extensively in print media and utilize the Book of Hope, we realized that to fulfill Vision 2030, it would require more than books.

We have developed the Book of Hope in hundreds of languages and a variety of specially-targeted editions for various age groups, cultures and circumstances. We also have The GodMan film about the life of Christ, tailored to several cultures and languages. Other resources include:

  • God’s Big Story. A Scripture engagement plan, used in conjunction with 17 Stories, that helps children with low Bible literacy develop a comprehensive biblical worldview. Parents or teachers use the book to tell major stories from the Scriptures, explain the redemptive plan that culminates in Christ, and provide a basic Bible foundation for primary-age children.
  • 17 Stories. Originally designed to impart Scripture’s most important themes in Ghana, 17 Stories is now being used for primary-aged children in many cultures. It consists of 16 individual trading cards, each with an illustration from an important Bible story on one side, and on the other side, part of a graphic illustrating the bible’s overarching meta-narrative. Sunday school teachers and children’s ministry workers guide the children through the various stories and toward a biblical worldview and faith in Christ
  • Stories of Hope. This 75 lesson program is designed to communicate God’s Big Story to children in club-based settings and provide Biblical teaching on key issues identified by research. Like 17 Stories, it relies on illustrations and storytelling to impart the important truths. Stories of Hope was launched in 2011 in Uganda and is currently being contextualized for use in various countries.
  • And dozens more in design and development.

All are designed to present the Gospel in a way that’s powerful, appealing and understandable to its target audience.

To Every Child and Youth in the World …

Reaching every child in every generation

Statistics show that children between the ages of 4 and 14 — also known as the 4/14 Window — are those most likely to make a decision to follow Jesus Christ.

This is the critical moment in a child’s life to present a relevant and engaging Gospel message, and our desire is that no child should slip past age 14 without the opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ in a very personal way.

It’s our urgent imperative, as young people over the age of 14 become increasingly more difficult to bring into God’s Kingdom.

Mission Fulfillment for OneHope means that every child, in every nation, has received a relevant Gospel presentation by the year 2030, with the apparatus in place to reach every subsequent generation every 15 years thereafter.

That’s what Vision 2030 is all about.

This extraordinary mission cannot be accomplished, though, without the partnership and cooperation of many thousands of ministries and local churches. OneHope primarily comes alongside ministries and churches already doing the mission and provides them with the tools they need to be even more effective and expand their outreaches.

We are committed to collaboration in creating highly-targeted Scripture tools and partnership with distributing them.

You can see a short list of some of our global partners and an explanation of the importance of collaboration on our Partnership Pages.

We always welcome new partnerships and pray continually for the next connection with a ministry or individual that will help spur the mission onward and impact a generation — both now and for eternity.
